Doctors and therapists receive exclusive advanced training through the AGR e.V. (Campaign for Healthier Backs)

Backache has many causes. Studies show that a holistic, comprehensive approach to the corresponding measures has the best chance of dealing with back problems. One important element of all preventive and therapeutic measures consists in situational prevention. This means that the objects and products used on a day-to-day basis in the living, working and leisure surroundings should be ergonomic in design and satisfy interdisciplinary medical requirements. This relieves the burden on the user, optimises everyday procedures and provides appropriate support in the fight against backache.

The importance of this topic has increased significantly in recent years, but even so, both physicians and patients often still have a serious lack of knowledge about situational prevention. At the same time, today more and more patients are looking for qualified information, while increasing numbers of doctors, therapists and/or back school instructors would like to offer their patients competent advice.

State-certified advanced training

The AGR e.V. (Campaign for Healthier Backs) has therefore created the medical training course to become a "Specialist for back-friendly situational prevention". The course is state-approved (ZFU – Central Office for Distance Learning) and is also acknowledged as an official part of medical training (39 points), with recognition by many other medical associations.

This training course supports the doctor/therapist in the day-to-day work of advising patients, extending the range of services provided and helping those suffering from backache in the difficult task of making their surroundings back-friendly.

AGR-trained "specialists for back-friendly situational prevention" thus act as the ideal contact point for people seeking to take a preventive approach or who already suffer from backache. This applies to both the private and the working environment. In many cases, these "specialists" also offer workplace analysis and advice. This can have a positive influence on the individual's quality of life and bring about a considerable reduction on the number of work days lost due to illness.

Specially trained doctors and therapists can be recognised by the following logo and the AGR certificate:
